Friday evening cooking!

After last night's storm and tonight's approaching storm, I've had enough time to cook before that lightening starts! So I cooked Chicken and Dumplings, Peach Cobbler, and Black-eye pea Jambalaya (which has almost been completely devoured). So, come on stormy weather the supper is cooked!

I would love nothing more to be outside on a riding lawn mower cutting grass, but it is way too cool and wet outside.

Hope everyone is doing well and I do enjoy reading your posts. I have included photos of supper, to show you what I cooked tonight. 

Recipe for Blueberry Muffins

1 3/4 cup self-rising flour
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup Wesson oil
1 egg
3/4 cup milk
1 1/2 cup blueberries

Mix all ingredients, except the blueberries. Mix well. Then add blueberries and stir lightly. Pour mixture in muffin pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.

I use cupcake liners in my muffin pan.

Strawberry Cake

I made a Strawberry Cake yesterday.Heres the recipe:Beat 2 eggs and stir in 1 cup frozen sugared strawberries and 1 cup white sugar.Add to that 2 cups self-rising flour and 1 cup melted butter.Then add 1/2 cup sour cream.Pour into a loafpan dish and bake at 350 degrees until done.Check with a toothpick.My cake took 45 minutes and this made two loafpans.Add a glaze if you wish:1/2 cup brown sugar,2 tbls butter,crushed pecans.Spread onto top of cakes.Yummy!!!!

It is a rainy day today so I decided not to take any photos outside.I wanted to take one of the kittens but Bobo was up to his badself and barked at them and they ran to the barn.Two are black with white socks and a little white on their chest and the other one is a beautiful gray with white socks.Oh they are adorable.Their mama took them to the butterbean patch which is a raised bed and they will play with the leaves and then they played,it looks as they were tickling each other but they were play fighting and Bobo cant stand all the comotion.So he went out there and barked and they ran.Something else cute, three little redbirds come up on the porch when Bobo was away on the front and eat his doggiechow.One of them flew into the backdoor window and knocked hisself out and he picked hisself up and flew back into the chow.A few minutes ago I went to check his bowl and there were crumbs ontop of the 4wheeler seat where birdies been eating.Well I will have to clean that good.Ha!But they are alot of fun to watch.It has been a very peaceful and quiet day.

BoBo at it again!

BoBo loves to dig in the flowerbed.I am pretty sure he will try the flowers out when I put them out and then I will have to spray him with the waterhose.He is having a fun day!!!The neighbors puppy came over and they was having so much fun they rolled off the porch into the dirt and they were really dirty then.

There were eight redbirds in the crepe myrtles.They will come eat in the feeder every morning.One flew into the kitchen window and fell onto the porch but was able to get up and fly away.I am glad it was ok.

BoBo doesnt mind the birds but he does mind this little cat.(This is an older photo of Princess)

She will get in his bed and drink and eat from his bowls if he is not in the back.

Princess has bowls to eat out of at the barn with the others behind a gate that BoBo cannot get to.She doesnt like staying with the cats but likes to come to the backporch.I am thinking of making her something near the house she can have for herself.

It is very cold today and it is sleeting and raining and am being really lazy today. I am reading, eating, and watching television and on the internet. It is a good day to be lazy! Did get up at five oclock this morning and did all the washing and drying and cooked a big pot of homeade vegetable soup and made peanut butter and jelly for tonight.We didnt go to church because of frozen roads.School will probably be closed tomorrow. I am trying to teach BoBo how to high five. He did it three times but want do it anymore. I guess he's wondering why that crazy lady is teaching him that. Hello! We are supposed to have a winter storm tomorrow. So I am getting all the clothes washed and dryed and doing some cooking. The power usually goes out when it snows or have a ice storm. Hope you all have a good day and happy winter weather. Brrrrr!!!!!!!!!!

Another baby goat. There are baby goats everywhere!!!!! They all have different mamas but the same father goat.They are doing well, but lost one.

Hello! We have triplet baby goats! They are adorable. When I get to take a picture I will show you, maybe tomorrow evening I can take pictures. We also have twin goats and one more and one on the way. They are so cute!!!!!!!!!!!!! I went ahead and posted for Tuesdays Show and Tail for Angela atwvtreasures.blogspot.com because I will have to take Anna to get an impression made for another retainer so we will be out a little while.
